Brian Pope is a U.S. Air Force veteran and native Floridian, with an impressive career in the tree care industry spanning over three decades. As a second-generation arborist, Pope has accumulated a wealth of experience ranging from commercial and residential tree care to utility and municipal arboriculture, disaster relief, and consulting.
Throughout his career, Pope has mastered an array of tree care roles — from climbing and bucket operations to business development and branch management. His work has taken him across the country, working numerous disaster relief efforts in the southeast and several fire projects along the west coast.
Currently, Pope serves as a traveling crew trainer and dedicates his time to teaching and training as part of the ACRT Arborist Training team. He also frequently teaches for the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) and the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), as well. His passion for teaching and providing continuous education is fueled by his enthusiasm for mentoring the new generation of tree care professionals.
An active member of the ISA, Pope also serves on the Board of Directors for the Southern Chapter, representing the state of Arkansas. He is a testing proctor for ISA and acts as the lead evaluator for the Certified Tree Worker Climber Specialist credential for all seven southern chapter states.
Pope holds a master’s degree from Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Fla., and is pursuing a doctorate. He holds numerous certifications including Board Certified Master Arborist, Registered Consulting Arborist, Tree Risk Assessment Qualification, Certified Tree Care Safety Professional, Tree and Plant Appraisal Qualification, Wildfire Risk Reduction Qualification, and more.
Pope is a standout in the world of arboriculture, thanks to his mix of experience, leadership, dedication, and knowledge. His ongoing efforts to share his wisdom and expertise play an important role in advancing the tree care industry.
